We have two planes for you to watch being constructed. The first is a kit build and the second down below is a kit build that John Maledy is working on.

Kit Plane
On April 17, 2007 we completed the purchased of kit #18.from a builder in Texas, who was its second owner.

After Carefully loading it into a truck and driving 1,400 miles northeast, the plane arrived at its new home and build location:  Jessup, Maryland.

We will be carefully documenting it's progress on this we page.  We know our goals are optimistic, but we'd really love to fly this bird to Oshkosh soon!

Below is a summary of the chapters and what is competed and what needs to be completed yet.  For day-to-day logs, visit the blog report at http://construction.aerocanard.org

Click on the chapter headings to view construction of that section.

Recently, John Maledy started building an Aerocanard from the Plans. Below are links to his construction pages on this site as well. Besure to check the build out and encourage John as he pushes forward with his plane.

Indirect Expenses (jigs, tools, etc.)   $1,984.68
Direct Expenses *   $17,684.45

*We anticipate only a few more big ticket items:  Engine, Prop and Instruments.

For John's Plans built plane, his expenses is as follows:

Indirect Expenses (jigs, tools, etc.)   $
Direct Expenses *   $

*We anticipate only a few more big ticket items:  Engine, Prop and Instruments.

We are also looking to build an on line database of current AeroCanard projects and flying planes.  As we are expecting more than just AeroCanard builders to be reading this, we are hopeful that if you know of someone with one of these planes you will help us make contact with them.   Please direct all correspondence to canards@aeorcanard.org

For those AeroCanard builders that do not currently have a web page showing the progress of their build and listing their experiences, we will be happy to post info and pictures on this site as we have done for John above.  For the rest of you, we will want to link to your site, if you do not mind.
